Milorad Dodik, former President of Republika Srpska, hosted Iddo Netanyahu, the brother of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in Banja Luka. The visit follows years of what Dodik described as friendly and meaningful relations between the Serb and Jewish peoples, as well as between Republika Srpska and Israel.

Dodik highlighted the alleged shared historical experiences of suffering between the Serb and Jewish communities, emphasising that these experiences have fostered mutual understanding and respect. He noted that cultural exchanges and efforts to preserve what he called “historical truth” continue to strengthen the bond between the two peoples, built on sincerity, solidarity, and shared values.

During the visit, Dodik announced that there would be a promotion of Netanyahu’s novel “Itamar K” in Banja Luka later in the evening, expressing his anticipation for the public presentation of Netanyahu’s work and achievements in Republika Srpska.

Although Dodik is no longer the President of Republika Srpska, the meeting took place at the Presidential Palace in Banja Luka, underscoring the significance he places on maintaining diplomatic ties.
