The recent appearance of Milorad Dodik, the legally convicted President of Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity, on the RTRS entity emitter has drawn significant attention due to his controversial and, as Bosnian Foreign Minister Elmedin Konakovic described, racist statements.

Konakovic recorded a clip from Dodik’s interview on RTRS, in which Dodik appeared to discuss migrant policy while insulting British Secretary of State David Lammy. Dodik, who opposes British policies and has been subject to UK sanctions since 2022, reportedly used derogatory language against Lammy during the broadcast, including calling him “the black man.”

“This is a shameful racist attack by Milorad Dodik on British Secretary of State David Lammy. The Russian proxy in the heart of Europe, nationalist and fascist, has now revealed himself as a racist,” Konakovic stated. He posted the video on X (formerly Twitter), tagging Dodik, Lammy, the US Embassy, the administration of US President Donald Trump, and EU leaders.

In the same interview, Dodik also directed offensive remarks at Bosniaks, consistent with his past public statements. Furthermore, Dodik hinted that the upcoming meeting between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin would include discussions about the RS, which he claimed holds greater importance than Bosnia and Herzegovina itself.

The episode highlights ongoing ethnic and political tensions within Bosnia and Herzegovina and continues Dodik’s pattern of provocative rhetoric targeting both internal and international figures.
