The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed to N1 that the military attaché of BiH in Russia received information from the Russian Defence Ministry about the participation of BiH citizens in the war in Ukraine who are allegedly fighting "on the side of Kyiv."

According to local media, the information states that there are 167 such citizens, of which 17 returned home, while 24 died, and that the provisions of the Geneva Convention do not apply to them.

However, Bosnia’s Foreign Affairs Ministry said it cannot confirm this at the moment and that the information is being checked.

However, according to BiH’s Ambassador in Russia, Zeljko Samardzija, this is accurate information.
