A total of 127 Bosnian citizens were evacuated from Israel on an Air Serbia flight and arrived in Belgrade. New flights with more nationals of Bosnia and Herzegovina are expected to arrive in the forthcoming period, learns N1.
“The priority was given to citizens who are not residents here, those who had babies, small babies… those who missed flights of foreign companies and were left without the possibility of overnight accommodation. Our students were also there,'” said honorary consul of Serbia in Israel, Aleksandar Nikolic.
So far, close to 400 passengers have been on the planes that evacuated them from Israel. New flights are expected on Monday and a day later.
“It is very important is that they are in constant contact with the embassies. The Embassy of Serbia has good relations with the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina, collegially as it should be. The road border crossings are operational, attention is needed… so it is very important not only to follow and be in contact with the embassies, but to be disciplined and follow the orders of the background command,” he added.
Citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as citizens of Serbia, mostly stayed in Israel as tourists, on a pilgrimage. Some of them are on doctoral studies at various universities, and there is also a significant number of athletes, mostly from Serbia.
The Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina confirmed that there is no information that any of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina were killed or injured over the past days.
