The monument to the hero of many happy childhoods, the tough kung fu master - Bruce Lee, has disappeared from Zrinjevac Park in Mostar for unknown reasons, after being erected in November 2005.

Unofficially, the City of Mostar has nothing to do with the removal of the statue, and neither does the Mostar Utility Company.

The Herzegovina Neretva Canton (HNK) Ministry of the Interior does not have any official information about this event either.

The monument to the hero of many happy childhoods, the tenacious kung fu master – Bruce Lee, a man who is neither Croat, Bosniak, nor Serb was erected in Zrinjevac Park in November 2005.

The idea was “born” by a duo gathered around the Urbani pokret – Mostar – Nino Raspudic and Veselin Gatal. On the first night after it was installed, the nunchucks disappeared. The statue was once removed from the park after vandals repeatedly damaged Lee's statue which was made by an artist called Ivan Fijolic. The statue was repaired by Mostar academic sculptor Zeljko Maric. After seven and a half years, Bruce Lee was returned to the park again.

In July 2003, the leaders of the non-governmental organization Urbani pokret – Mostar announced at a public forum the initiative to erect a monument to Bruce Lee in Mostar and invited artists to offer their solutions. After it was reported by the local media, the news spread like wildfire all over the world, it was reported by the largest and most powerful media houses, Bljesak.info reported.
