The "Manifesto" Gallery in Sarajevo hosted an awards ceremony on Tuesday for the distribution of scholarships from the Zlatko Karahodzic Foundation. During the event, three scholarships, each in the amount of 2,000 Bosnian marks “approx. € 1,022), were presented to selected candidates whose artistic work contributes to the community, enriches society, and creates a positive impact on their environment.
A total of 38 applications were received for the competition. The expert jury, comprised of Damir Imamovic (music), Rusmir Efendic (film and theatre), and Vladimir Colakovic (creative writing and journalism), faced the difficult task of selecting three individuals from a pool of inspiring entries to receive this year’s financial incentive.
The competition, originally published in October 2025, was open to students from universities registered in Bosnia and Herzegovina demonstrating strong affinities and achievements in the fields of music, film, theatre, journalism, and creative writing, while contributing to the community through their art.
The scholarship recipients are Emilija Novakovic, Said Tutnjevic, and N1 television journalist Amila Mrkonja.
The Zlatko Karahodzic Foundation was established in July 2025 following the untimely death of the young Bosnian musician, journalist, and producer Zlatko Karahodzic. The Foundation aims to preserve the memory of Zlatko’s life, values, and legacy by providing support to young people with similar talents and interests. Its primary activity is awarding scholarships to support education and personal development. The Foundation was established and is funded through the participation of Zlatko’s family and friends.
