A new direct flight route between Tuzla and Bratislava was officially inaugurated on Wednesday morning at Bratislava International Airport, marking a significant step in the air connectivity of Tuzla Canton with Central Europe. The ceremony was attended by the Bosnian Ambassador of to the Slovak Republic, Martina Mlinarevic, and Honorary Consul Munir Pasagic.

Ambassador Mlinarevic emphasized the strategic importance of the connection, noting its potential to bolster economic, tourist, and cultural relations between the two nations. "I am proud of this connection, which will be highly significant for our countries," Mlinarevic stated during the opening.

Operated by Wizz Air, the service is scheduled to run four times a week. Due to the geographical proximity of Bratislava and Vienna, this route serves as a practical alternative to the former Tuzla–Vienna line, benefiting travelers headed to the Austrian capital.

The launch follows the successful reopening of Wizz Air’s base in Tuzla last December, which saw the stationing of two modern Airbus A321neo aircraft. The return of the base and the expansion of the flight network, which already includes destinations like Cologne and Memmingen, are the result of sustained infrastructure investments and flight subsidies provided by Tuzla Canton institutions.

By repositioning Tuzla International Airport as a key operational hub in Central and Eastern Europe, the new route confirms a strategic commitment to affordable travel and regional development. This expansion provides passengers with increased destination options while offering an additional boost to the local economy and the tourism sector.
