Addressing steel plant workers gathered in protest in front of the Council of Ministers building, Hamzic stated that the company will continue pressing politicians for answers and will persist until they are provided. He alleged that the current situation involves lobbying and vested interests, announcing that legal proceedings will be launched in the near future.

While the Government of the Federation of BiH entity previously adopted a decision to introduce import duties on steel, the final authority for the measure rests with the Council of Ministers.

It is estimated that these protective measures would safeguard approximately 11,000 jobs. Furthermore, the decision impacts various other sectors linked to steel production, including the railway industry and the Port of Ploce in Croatia.
