Delegations from all levels of government, the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Union of Associations of Fighters of the National Liberation War of Yugoslavia (SUBNOR) and other citizens' associations laid wreaths on Thursday, at the Eternal Flame Memorial in Sarajevo on the occasion of the Victory over Fascism Day.

Sarajevo Canton's Prime Minister Nihad Uk said that it is very important that we inherit the anti-fascist values on which our statehood is based.

”We need to strengthen the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and to invest in education and science because this is the best way to prevent the recurrence of fascism,” said Uk.

He recalled that fascism flared up in the Balkan region in the 90s when its consequences were most felt in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is why it is extremely important to persevere in anti-fascist values.
