Official death toll from devastating floods in BiH is now 18, most affected areas experience more rainfall
According to official data from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, the number of people who died in the flood-affected areas there increased to 15 after rescuers found two more lifeless bodies in the areas of Konjic and Jablanica. This brings the total death toll from the flash floods that struck large parts of the country to 18.
Rescue efforts are ongoing and the situation remains critical in many areas that experienced more rainfall throughout Saturday.
The Civil Protection Operations Center in Jablanica reported that a total of 67 people sought medical help at the Jablanica Health Center, with four of them transferred for further treatment.
Jablanica Mayor Damir Sabanovic confirmed meanwhile that no residential areas are cut off due to the flooding and landslides anymore.
