Three construction workers from Bosnia and Herzegovina were injured Thursday at the construction site of the Brijesta viaduct on the Peljesac Bridge access road and were taken to the Dubrovnik Hospital, but one of them, a 45-year-old, succumbed to his injuries.
The Dubrovnik-Neretva police department reported that the accident happened at around 3 pm near the town of Brijesta not far from Ston.
The other two workers, a 31-year-old and a 48-year-old were kept in hospital, and an autopsy at the Pathology Department of the Dubrovnik Hospital will find out the exact cause of their colleague's death.
The police stated that they conducted an investigation at the scene, in the presence of the labour inspector of the State Inspectorate, and that they are continuing the criminal investigation.
