Denis Becirovic, the opposition's candidate for the Bosnian Presidency in the October elections, said he would be the president to all citizens if he gets support in the elections.
“It is my political programme, my political philosophy, that I represent all well-meaning people in Bosnia and Herzegovina. After all, the current members of the Presidency should act that way too,” Becirovic said.
Speaking in N1's Pressing, the presidential candidate noted that the choice of his nomination was a result of a “rational discussion” about who would be the optimal candidate, who could take Bosnia and Herzegovina forward and the one able to win in the elections.
The time has come for a society of equal opportunities, for a new policy, the things must change, he added.
According to him, the October elections could be the last chance to make a change.
Becirovic finds it the most important that citizens give support to him and candidate Zeljko Komsic, as representatives of civic parties i.e. that representatives of the right-leaning SDA and HDZ BIH parties are not elected in the Presidency.
Asked what is the difference between him and SDA leader Bakir Izetbegovic, former Bosniak Presidency member, Becirovic replied it is in support to the Euro-Atlantic integration.
“I think we must move on the path to the Euro-Atlantic integration both truly and effectively, and not give statements and make moves in some segments that have nothing to do with European Union,” he noted.
As for his relations with the Head of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the presidential candidate said it was fair and that he would do his best for the Islamic Community to sign an agreement with the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
