The Federal Hydrometeorological Institute of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an orange weather alert due to heavy rainfall that could cause flooding.
The warning applies to several areas, including Livno, Mostar, Sarajevo, Tuzla, Banja Luka, Foca, Prijedor, Trebinje, and Visegrad.
Expected local rainfall amounts range from 30 to 60 liters per square meter, with some areas receiving up to 70 l/m², which could lead to urban and flash flooding.
“Take precautionary measures and follow the latest weather forecasts. Expect disruptions in daily routines and be prepared for interruptions in outdoor activities. For further information, contact relevant authorities. Thunderstorms may occur, so exercise extra caution in exposed areas such as mountains, forests, and open fields,” the warning states.
A weather change with cooler temperatures has also arrived in Bosnia and Herzegovina, following an extended period of extreme heat. Rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms is forecasted for much of the country.
