PACE delegation to visit BiH ahead of October 4 general elections

A seven-member delegation of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), led by Jone Blikra (Norway, SOC), will make a pre-electoral visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina from 15 to 17 September to assess the election campaign and political climate prior to the general elections on 4 October.

In Sarajevo, the delegation will meet the Acting High Representative for Bosnia and Herzegovina, members of the Collegiums of the House of Peoples and the House of Representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as leaders and representatives of parliamentary groups of the House of Representatives of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
In Banja Luka, the delegation will meet leaders and representatives of parliamentary groups of the National Assembly of the Republika Srpska.
Meetings are also scheduled with the Head and members of the OSCE/ODIHR Election Observation Mission and the President and members of the Central Election Commission, as well as representatives of the diplomatic community, the civil society and the media.
The delegation is due to issue a statement at the end of the visit. A full delegation of 22 members will travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina to observe the elections on 4 October.
