Sarajevo Canton’s Police solved the case of damage to five cars with Serbian license plates during the New Year holidays. The police said Wednesday they apprehended an individual suspicted of committing these crimes, adding that the suspect was later placed under observation and medical treatment in the Sarajevo Canton Psychiatric Hospital.

On January 4, 2023, the Centar Municipality police station identified, found and detained a person who is suspected of damaging five vehicles with Serbian licence plates in the period from December 31, 2022 to January 3, 2023.

“Investigating the aforementioned criminal acts, the police officers learned that the mentioned individual had previously committed criminal acts of damage to other people's property, by damaging tires on motor vehicles, and that for this reason they had already been hospitalized and treated at the Cantonal Psychiatric Hospital Sarajevo. The incident was reported to the on-duty Prosecutor of the Cantonal Prosecutor's Office, by whose order the person was placed under observation and medical treatment in the Sarajevo Canton Psychiatric Hospital,” the Sarajevo Canton police said.
