(PHOTO) German FM Baerbock strolls around Sarajevo's Old town, visits city's landmarks
Thirty years ago the European idea was defended here, just like the heart of Europe is beating in Kyiv today, it was beating in the besieged Sarajevo in the 1990s – German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said on Tuesday morning as she toured Sarajevo's Old Town in the company of Bosnian counterpart Elmedin Konakovic.
Baerbock arrived in Sarajevo on Monday afternoon for an official visit and first met with members of Bosnia's tripartite Presidency. A day later, she walked around Sarajevo's Old Town and central area, visiting the city's main landmarks – Gazi Husrev bey's Mosque, the Catholic Cathedral of Sacred Heart, the Orthodox Congregational Church, the Bascarsija Square, and other nearby attractions.
She held an official meeting with FM Konakovic and is also set to meet the Parliament members and members of the Commission for European integration.
