They met with BiH Presidency members however Plenkovic created a diplomatic scandal by not coming to the arranged meeting in order to avoid meeting with Chairman Zeljko Komsic.

“It’s time to pass certain laws in order to give the European Commission, but above all Ursula von der Leyen, a reason to include in her report a precondition to reach a consensus on the opening of negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina. The past two years have seen tectonic changes in enlargement policy,” Plenkovic said.

“We must be aware that this is a chance for BiH to catch up. Croatia is the strongest advocate, a friend of BiH when it comes to speeding up its accession,” he added.

He also referred to numerous reactions to this morning's incident with the BiH Presidency.

“When it comes to not joining my colleagues in the BiH Presidency this morning, I have to say that my move was not aimed at disrespecting the institution of the BiH Presidency. My move concerned the problem related to the election of the Croat member of the BiH Presidency. He was not elected by the majority will of the Croat people but by the votes of other ethnicities. For the Croatian Government, he is a member of the BiH Presidency, representing the Croat people, but without legitimacy. I came here to help BiH with all my heart,” Plenkovic explained.
