Radovan Viskovic, prime minister-designate of Bosnia's Serb-majority Republika Srpska entity, said that economic growth, digitalisation, health and social policies, reform of public administration and demographic recovery of Republika Srpska will be key priorities of the new entity government. While the EU integration remains a priority, the entity will maintain its military neutrality and align its stance on NATO with that of Serbia, he added.
Addressing the media after the session of Republika Srpska entity parliament, Viskovic said that the Government will appoint three task groups in its first inaugural session to work on those priorities.
As the most important investment projects he pointed out the construction of hydropower plants Dabar, Buk Bijela, Foca, Paunci and Bistrica as well as solar and wind power plants. He also emphasised the construction of highways, bridges, railways, speedways and other infrastructure as projects that the new government will focus on in the upcoming period.
Viskovic also said that EU integration remains a priority as well as protection of constitutional order of Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina. He added that the decision on military neutrality remains and that the matter of NATO membership remains aligned with that of Serbia.
Serbia was named in Viskovic's speech before the National Assembly as the most important partner in terms of regional and international cooperation, with the Russian Federation taking a “special place.”
The new government, according to Viskovic, will keep insisting on the shutdown of the Office of the High Representative, the international peace envoy in BiH, and on dismissal of foreign judges in the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
