Police arrest Canton Sarajevo minister’s minor son over Vitez factory arson allegations

Addressing the arrest via Facebook, Kenan Magoda stated that this is undoubtedly one of the hardest moments of his life, primarily as a father. For years, he has faced various media attacks, accusations, and attempts at disqualification as a public figure, learning to live with the pressure. However, he emphasized that dragging his minor child into the public sphere requires a calm, responsible reaction without hiding behind his official position.

Magoda offered his full support to the Prosecutor's Office and police authorities to professionally, impartially, and thoroughly establish all the facts. He declared that if the allegations prove true and his child's responsibility is confirmed, he will demand the strictest legal consequences as a father.

He stressed that his surname must not serve as protection or a mitigating circumstance for his son, viewing the situation as a vital life lesson and a clear message to his other children that everyone must answer for their actions. At the same time, he urged the public and the media to remember that a minor is involved and to withhold judgment until competent authorities determine the facts.

Refusing to speculate on current public information or conduct an investigation through the media, Magoda noted that certain circumstances and details will be shared when the time is right without compromising the ongoing investigation. Until then, his sole request is for institutions to do their work without pressure, privileges, or protection for anyone, reiterating that before any public office, he remains a father seeking only the truth.
