Port of Brcko achieves strong growth with projected revenues reaching 2.8 million Bosnian marks

Deputy Director Damir Djokic attributed the financial expansion to the successful deployment of a newly operational port crane, which has fully delivered on performance expectations. He noted that the facility previously achieved a 60 percent surge in cargo handling volume throughout 2025 relative to the preceding year.

Positive operational momentum has persisted into the current period, with the port securing 1 million marks (approximately € 511,290) in cargo handling profit during the first six months. Approximately 70 percent of the targeted annual cargo volume was successfully realized during this timeframe.

Primary cargo throughput features sugar destined for the Bimal company, cement originating from Lukavac, and soda imported from Turkey, while management anticipates continued expansion in commercial turnover.

Djokic acknowledged ongoing external challenges impacting operations, including persistent disruptions stemming from the conflict in Ukraine and the lingering aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic, which have introduced volatility into relationships with traditional partners such as the steel mill in Zenica and the coke plant in Lukavac. Consequently, management has actively pursued alternative clientele, confirming that the comprehensive revitalization of the port infrastructure has already yielded favorable commercial outcomes.

Additional revenue streams continue to expand in parallel, driven by sustained growth within customs terminal operations and the rental of storage capacity.
