The President of Bosnia’s Serb-majority Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Milorad Dodik, is residing in Russia’s Saint Petersburg where he is taking part in the Security Forum, among some 130 sovereign countries.

After making a formal speech at this forum, he shared a photo of himself standing in front of the flags of several countries. What is striking is the fact that the flag of Republika Srpska is among the flags of many other countries.

“The flag of Republika Srpska is among the flags of many other countries participating in the Security Forum in St. Petersburg,” Milorad Dodik wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

The flags are arranged in alphabetical order. The RS flag is located in a row next to the flags of Serbia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Syria, Seychelles…

When asked for a comment, the Russian Embassy responded to N1 by simply sending photos from the Security Forum. The photos show flags among which is also the Bosnian flag.

On the other hand, Bosnia’s Foreign Ministry did not have a special explanation either.

To N1’s question whether this is another diplomatic scandal and what is the protocol, they said:

“Through our Embassy in Moscow, we are establishing the facts based on which we will take the next steps, following the Vienna Convention and the established diplomatic practice,” the Ministry stated in their response.
