The President of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Central Election Commission (CEC), Irena Hadziabdic, announced last evening that the institution has posted preliminary results for 59.88% of processed polling stations on its official website.

She explained that the CEC will publish preliminary election results twice in the next 24 hours, then once a day for the following five days, after which updates will be provided every 48 hours until the final official results are confirmed.

Hadziabdic noted that voter turnout was 47.73%, not counting data from two polling stations and that 29,000 mail-in ballots from abroad have been received so far.

She further outlined the counting process, which will begin with unconfirmed ballots, followed by absentee ballots, mobile voting team ballots, mail-in ballots, and finally, ballots from voters at diplomatic and consular missions.

Hadziabdic also reported that the CEC had received the highest number of complaints regarding violations of the election silence—164 in total—and that requests from political entities to annul the elections have already started coming in.

She added that the CEC would soon shift its attention to organizing elections in municipalities where they had been postponed.
