A primary focus of the meeting was the Southern Gas Interconnection, a strategic energy project designed to diversify natural gas sources and bolster the energy independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Becirovic identified the interconnection as the country’s top infrastructural priority and welcomed the full support of the United States in its implementation.

The discussion also addressed domestic legal and political challenges. Becirovic emphasized the necessity of resolving the state property issue in accordance with the final and binding rulings of the Constitutional Court of BiH.

Furthermore, Becirovic alerted the US diplomat to the reactivation of dangerous "anti-Dayton" policies by the former president of the Republika Srpska entity, Milorad Dodik. He warned that such political maneuvers directly threaten peace and stability in both Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region.

John Ginkel reaffirmed the firm and unequivocal support of the US government, under the administration of President Donald Trump, for Bosnia's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He emphasized that the US remains committed to strategic energy projects that foster long-term security and economic development for the country.
