Municipal assembly speakers in Bosnia’s Republika Srpska (RS) entity and the dismissed Srebrenica Assembly speaker, Camil Durakovic, held a meeting with the leader of the Democratic Action Party (SDA) and speaker of the House of Peoples of the BiH Parliament, Bakir Izetbegovic acter which he said they agreed that the pro-Bosnian parties had matured enough and that they would take part in the 2022 elections with a joint list of candidates.

“The new energy in the diaspora will provide a chance for people returning to the Republika Srpska to become a political factor in the RS National Assembly. The SDA will selflessly help that, so it doesn't matter who will be in which position. We should all do everything in our power for this. The SDA has the greatest support there which is clear to everyone, but we will not act like we set the rules”, the leader of the strongest Bosniak party in the country, Bakir Izetbegovic said.

He stated that the Federation entity must significantly help the returnees to the RS.

Izetbegovic noted that this cooperation should go in the direction of launching smaller projects because these are “weaker” environments in which there are fewer and fewer young people. He added that they tried some bigger projects on several occasions, however, it was not possible to realize them.

Speaking about the cooperation of pro-Bosnian parties, the House of Peoples speaker said that there are no problems there and that everyone who wants what is good for BiH should be patriotically reorganized.

He pointed out that the most probable scenario is that the pro-Bosnian parties will have a joint appearance in the upcoming elections and even regarding the document on what is or is not acceptable for them when it comes to changing the Constitution and the Election Law.

The meeting was held on the initiative of municipal assembly speakers of Doboj, Prijedor, Zvornik, Visegrad, Osmaci, Novo Gorasde, Vukosavlje and the dismissed Srebrenica Assembly speaker Camil Durakovic.
