The International Labor Day was also marked with protests in Banja Luka, where the leadership of the Federation of Republika Srpska (RS) entity Trade Unions and civil unions asked for an increase in wages and an arrangement of the wage system in the private sector, i.e. the signing of the collective agreement.

With an average salary of 1,250 Bosnian marks (some €600), RS residents cannot pay even half of the consumer basket that has exceeded the figure of 2,000 marks (around €1,000).

In the midst of inflation, workers say that they can only afford the basic necessities of life, and that is why they find it urgently necessary to adjust the wage system.
