"From the Russian side, solidarity was expressed with Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik," the Kremlin statement said.

During the conversation, Putin also reiterated his opposition to foreign interference in Serbia’s internal affairs, emphasizing that support for the country’s legally elected authorities was crucial.

The two leaders also discussed practical issues concerning bilateral cooperation, with a particular focus on energy.

Additionally, the Russian president took the opportunity to congratulate Vucic on his birthday, and both agreed to maintain communication at various levels.

Russia remains one of the few countries openly supporting Dodik’s political moves, which Western governments have labeled as secessionist threats to Bosnia and Herzegovina. While Serbia also backs Dodik, the European Union—except for Hungary, which maintains pro-Russian stances—has condemned his actions. Meanwhile, the United States has reaffirmed its commitment to Bosnia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
