Red weather alert issued for all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina

Weather information services in both parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina have issued a red weather alert for the period until 19 June due to extrremely high temperature that is expected in the country.

The Hydrometeorological Institute in the Federation entity issued a daily warning that lasts from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. as of today until July 19.

“The highest daily air temperature will mostly range between 34 and 40 degrees Celsius,” according to the weather alert.

Citizens are recommended to obey the measures prescribed by the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) for such meteorological conditions.

“Protect yourselves and help vulnerable people. Act in accordance with the advice of the authorised services,” said the Institute.

Republika Srpska entity Hydrometeorological Institute has also issued a red weather alert for the period until July 19, warning that the temperature is expected to remain high or even increase.

According to the service, a major weather change is expected not before July 24.
