The victims are of Bosniak nationality and were killed in 1992 in the areas of Bratunac and Ilijas. Their remains were exhumed in later years in Bratunac, Srebrenica, and Ilijas. The remains were handed over to the Missing Persons Institute of Bosnia and Herzegovina by Serbia’s Commission on Missing Persons.
The youngest victim to be buried this year is the infant Almera Paraganlija, who was only six months old when she was killed in May 1992 along with her mother, Zineta Paraganlija (born 1958). Their remains were found 29 years later, during an exhumation carried out in the Joseva area in October 2021.

Hamid Salkic’s son Hamdija, born in 1971 in Hranca near Bratunac, will also find final rest this year. He was only 21 when he went missing in the Ahatovici area in May 1992. His remains were identified in September last year, and he will be buried 33 years after his death.

Also to be buried this year after the collective funeral are the remains of Mevludin (Ejub) Sehic, born in 1958 in Dimnici, municipality of Srebrenica. He disappeared in 1992 in the Bratunac area. His remains were handed over by Serbia’s Commission on Missing Persons to the Institute for Missing Persons of BiH in July last year. The handover was carried out in accordance with the Protocol on Cooperation in the Search for Missing Persons between the Government of Serbia and the Council of Ministers of BiH, as well as the Working Rules and Procedures for Implementation of the Protocol.

The oldest victim to be buried this year is 38-year-old Dzemal (Selmo) Pitarevic from Srebrenica. He went missing in October 1992, and his remains were found in three different graves at three different locations: at the Zanjevo site during exhumations conducted in 2018 and 2023, and at the Miholjevine site in 2020.
