Representatives of US Catholic humanitarian organization CRS visit Caritas BiH

Tunjic stressed the importance of cooperation between organizations that share a mission of serving people in need, noting that respect for human dignity, solidarity and openness toward every person should be the foundation of their joint work, Caritas BiH said in a statement.

Imamovic highlighted the development of Caritas BiH's professional and organizational capacities and its contribution to changes that go beyond immediate humanitarian assistance.

She particularly recognized the importance of initiatives that, alongside supporting individuals and families, improve systems and services and expand opportunities for the social inclusion of vulnerable groups.

The long-standing cooperation between CRS and Caritas BiH has covered various areas, from humanitarian assistance and institutional development to peacebuilding, social inclusion and support for local communities.

The meeting paid particular attention to the experience gained through the PRO-Future program, which has worked to rebuild trust, foster understanding of different experiences, and strengthen dialogue among people and communities.

The meeting also emphasized the value of interreligious cooperation and the involvement of young people and other community members in activities that promote unity.

The meeting also addressed cooperation in disaster risk reduction, local community preparedness, and the exchange of methodologies and experience that could benefit future projects.

Both sides expressed their readiness to provide professional support and pool existing expertise to make assistance more accessible and effective.

Other topics included social housing, support for young people transitioning to independent living, and sustainable models of care and social services.
