At its Fourteenth Special Session, the National Assembly of Republika Srpska (RSNA) adopted the 2025 budget and the Economic reform programme for 2025-2027 in an expedited process. The total budget for the coming year amounts to 6.07 billion Bosnian marks (some €3 billion), marking an increase of 260 million marks (approx. €130 million) or 4.5% compared to the previous revised budget.
The Economic reform program outlines key focus areas such as economic growth, digitalization, public enterprise reform, healthcare and social policy, and demographic renewal. These measures aim to enhance Republika Srpska's fiscal and economic standing, the Assembly said.
In addition to the budget, the Assembly passed accompanying legislation, including the budget execution laws, borrowing decisions, and guarantees for 2025.
Condemnation of Albin Kurti's Visit to Bosnia
The Assembly also adopted resolutions condemning the visit of Kosovo's Prime Minister, Albin Kurti, to Bosnia and Herzegovina. The resolutions labelled his visit as a “provocation against Republika Srpska” and criticized his meetings with political leaders from the Federation of BiH and the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Assembly called on the BiH Presidency to declare Kurti a persona non grata within the country and reaffirm Bosnia's non-recognition of Kosovo's independence. The adopted resolutions will be forwarded to relevant state institutions, including the BiH Presidency and Council of Ministers, “to safeguard Republika Srpska's interests within the BiH institutions.”
The Fourteenth Special Session of the National Assembly will continue on December 11 to address additional legislative proposals and reforms, the Assembly added.
