The Supreme Court of Republika Srpska has upheld a revision appeal filed by Radio-Television of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BHRT), overturning a May 12, 2026 decision by the High Commercial Court in Banja Luka regarding disputed claims by Radio-Television of Republika Srpska (RTRS) for the use of microwave transmission links.

The ruling by the highest court in the entity confirms that BHRT holds no financial liability toward RTRS on this basis. BHRT stated that the verdict reinforces the validity of its legal arguments and demonstrates its commitment to utilizing all available legal mechanisms to defend its rights and organizational interests.

Describing the outcome as a significant legal victory, BHRT emphasized that the dispute must be resolved strictly through adherence to the law, factual evidence, and the equitable enforcement of legal regulations. Despite the favorable ruling, the broadcaster noted that its accounts remain frozen, presenting an ongoing threat to staff livelihoods and daily operations.

"BHRT, as we have previously pointed out, expects consistent, equal, and non-selective application of all court decisions. Court judgments and laws cannot be respected only when they suit the interests of one party, nor can enforcement proceedings have different standards depending on against whom they are conducted," the public broadcaster stated. BHRT affirmed that it will continue its struggle for financial stability, asset protection, and the fulfillment of its legally guaranteed mandate despite years of operational obstruction.
