The Council for the Protection of Vital National Interest within the Constitutional Court of Republika Srpska has ruled that the request submitted by the Bosniak Caucus in the RS Council of Peoples is admissible. The challenge concerns the "Law on the Protection of the Constitutional Order of RS," passed by the RS National Assembly on 13 March 2025, and its potential impact on the vital national interests of the Bosniak community.
The Council reviewed whether procedural requirements had been met to allow a substantive ruling on whether the contested legislation infringes on the rights of the Bosniak people. It concluded that all necessary procedural steps had been fulfilled.
The RS Constitutional Court confirmed that a final decision on the matter will be issued within the constitutionally mandated timeframe of one month.
