Bosnian Croat Presidency member Zeljko Komsic’s congratulatory message on the occasion of Kosovo’s Independence Day is a diplomatic scandal, the leader of Bosnian Serb opposition party from the Republika Srpska (RS) entity, Serb Democratic Party’s (SDS) Mirko Sarovic said Wednesday.
“Komsic's congratulations to the President of Kosovo are scandalous. And not only is it a diplomatic scandal, but it is completely inadmissible and contrary to the views of the Presidency of BiH and thus of Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Sarovic said.
He pointed out that Bosnia and Herzegovina did not recognize Kosovo and that – that is the only truth regarding the status of Kosovo.
“And any action that contradicts this key fact is a violation of the positions of the Presidency of BiH. It is completely unacceptable that one member of the BiH Presidency is working against the views of his country, whose reputation and dignity have been shaken anyway,” said Sarovic.
Croat Presidency member Zeljko Komsic also received an invitation to visit Kosovo, but, as his advisor Albin Zuhric told N1, he was prevented from visiting due to previous obligations.
Earlier, Bosnian Serb Presidency member Milorad Dodik's advisor Radovan Kovacevic called the congratulations a provocation, noting that Bosnia did not congratulate anything to Kosovo, which, thanks to the Serb-dominated entity of Republika Srpska, will never be recognized as an independent country.
