The SIPA officers are suspected of committing the criminal offences of unlawful deprivation of liberty in connection with an attempted offence, and abuse of official position or authority, under the Criminal Code of Republika Srpska.

The accusations stem from an incident on April 23, when SIPA attempted to arrest Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik in front of the entity government’s Administrative Centre in Istocno Sarajevo.

In a parallel development, the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has opened a case against members of the Republika Srpska Ministry of the Interior (MUP RS), who allegedly obstructed SIPA officers during the execution of their official duties.
