Russia’s Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina said that current developments regarding the activities of the High Representative of the international community in BiH prove “the validity and fairness of the principled position of the Russian Federation on the illegitimacy of Christian Schmidt in the position of high representative".
In a statement, the Embassy said that “it is absolutely obvious that, primarily due to the absence of an articulated constructive policy by part of the so-called international community, the OHR lost its role as a mediator in the implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement and became a generator of instability as a result of Mr. Schmidt's arbitrary and unbalanced decisions”.

It said that treating Schmidt as a legitimate High Representative was wrong and that admitting this “would have a whole series of positive consequences.”
“Taking all the responsibility for the development of the state into their own hands, the peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina would finally be freed from the external protectorate in the form of the OHR, open new perspectives for internal dialogue and more easily reach the compromise necessary to improve the political climate, which, in turn, would create the conditions for the growth of the quality of life of all peoples and every individual in Bosnia and Herzegovina”, the Embassy said.
