After Bosnian team was defeated by Luxembourg in a match played Tuesday night within the Euro 2024 qualifiers, former head coach and football star Safet Susic said it was “a shame to lose to Luxembourg.”
“I watched the game last night. It is a shame to lose to Luxembourg. We didn't only lose, they outplayed us,” Susic told Bosnian daily Avaz.
Susic, who took the Bosnian team to the World Cup in Brazil in 2014 – the team's only great competition, also said that the Bosnians missed some chances, adding that “Luxembourg deserved the win just like Bosnia deserved the loss.”
After losing to Portugal and Luxembourg in only a few days, Bosnia national team ranks as fourth in the Group J with only one victory against Iceland, from March this year.
The best ranked in the group is Portugal with four wins and 12 points, followed by Slovakia with 10 points.
Bosnia's next opponent in qualifiers is Liechtenstein, and the match is scheduled for September 8.
