In celebration of Christmas and New Year's, the traditional Santa Claus bike ride took place in Mostar on Sunday, organized by the Mostar Cycling Club (BKM) in collaboration with the cycling advocacy group "Hercegovina Bike."

The event began and ended at the Croatian Home of Herceg Stjepan (HDHS) Kosaca, covering a 15-kilometer route through the city.

Toni Zoric, president of “Hercegovina Bike,” highlighted the festive atmosphere and participation of many cyclists, including children.

“The weather was fantastic, the atmosphere was great, and a large number of cyclists and children joined us again this year. I believe this year’s ride exceeded last year’s turnout. What excites me most is the growing number of children participating,” Zoric said.

Santa Claus cyclists distributed sweets and small gifts to the youngest residents of Mostar as they rode through the city, adding joy to the festive season.

The idea for the Santa Claus bike ride was born 13 years ago when organized events of this kind were rare in Mostar.

“Our goal then, as it is now, was to contribute to the holiday spirit of Mostar and bring joy to children. We started with just about 20 participants, and last year we had nearly 200,” Zoric noted.

The route took participants from Rondo through Nikola Subic Zrinski promenade, to Spanish Square, Boulevard, over Lucki Bridge, and along Marshal Tito Street, passing landmarks like Musala, Hotel Ero, Customs Bridge, and the Railway Station. The ride continued through Zalik, over the new bridge to the top of Avenue Street, and back to Rondo via King Tomislav Street.

The event was supported by local police officers from the Herzegovina-Neretva Canton, ensuring the safety of all participants.
