Sarajevo International Airport announced the re-establishment of a regular route to Abu Dhabi, Gothenburg, Oslo, Stockholm, Warsaw, Memmingen and Athens in the summer season of 2024, as well as the introduction of new destinations, including Milan, Brussels and Izmir.
”Sarajevo will once again be connected with the seasonal destinations of Bodrum, Antalya, Doha, Riyadh, Monastir, Kuwait, Hurghada, and Thessaloniki this summer. Therefore, we expect the best season so far with over 30 airlines and destinations,” the Sarajevo International Airport told FENA.
They noted that Sarajevo International Airport is in continuous negotiations with several airlines to establish new routes, which would certainly make Sarajevo and BiH an even more attractive and accessible tourist destination.
Regarding media reports that Salam Air, a low-cost airline from Oman, will not fly from Sarajevo to Muscat this summer, the Sarajevo Airport stated that the answer to that question should be given by that airline, noting that the introduction of visas for citizens of any country including Oman, has an impact on the potential of the route.
”We can confirm that the mentioned route performed well last summer. However, even though BiH introduced visas for citizens of Oman as of March 1, 2024, we hope that the visa regime and the fact that Salam Air does not operate flights this summer season will not significantly affect the arrival of citizens of the Sultanate of Oman to Bosnia and Herzegovina,” the Airport officials said.
