The Archbishop of Sarajevo, Tomo Vuksic, issued a message on Thursday to mark the 30th anniversary of the genocide committed against Bosniaks in Srebrenica, saying that the graves of the victims remain a lasting warning against evil and war.

In his message, Vuksic extended his condolences to all those who lost family members, friends, or acquaintances in Srebrenica, especially to the families of those whose remains will be buried this year.
He underlined that the graves of the victims serve as a permanent reminder of the horrors of war, a fervent prayer for peace, and a powerful call for an end to all armed conflict and every form of violence against human life.
“They are also places of remembrance and prayer for noble-hearted people, and a lasting appeal to all to urgently cleanse memory, forgive, stop harbouring resentment, and build trust, social harmony, and the common good. The graves of the victims are a moral imperative that dialogue must be the only way to resolve all issues,” said Vuksic.
