Canton Sarajevo residents' health is our priority, but that does not mean we will let our entrepreneurs stranded in the wake of a partial lockdown, the Sarajevo Canton's Economy Minister Adnan Delic said Friday during an online press conference, noting that they plan to inject 41.6 million Bosnian marks (approx. €21 million) into the economy.
“I want to tell you that the health of our citizens is our number one priority, but as the Minister of Economy, I must take care of every business entity and every job in the Sarajevo Canton. My message to all entrepreneurs who operate in the Sarajevo Canton is that we will not leave them stranded. Accordingly, as you know from before, the budget of the Ministry of Economy of the Sarajevo Canton has 21 million Bosnian marks (some €10.5 million) earmarked for such occasions. We plan to inject and implement them in the first half of this year. The drafting of amendments to the Law on Mitigating the Negative Effects of the Covid Pandemic is already in the final phase, on the basis of which the payment of these funds will be made,” Delic said.
In addition to that item in the budget of the Ministry of Economy, additional 8.5 million Bosnian marks (almost €4.2 million) are planned for incentives to small businesses, the Minister said.
In total, the Ministry plans to implement 41.6 Bosnian marks (some €21 million) into the economy of the Sarajevo Canton, which, according to Delic, is the most any other government before them earmarked for these purposes.
