The Prime Minister of the Sarajevo Canton, Edin Forto, told N1 that he considers the Bosnian Serb member of the country’s tripartite Presidency, Milorad Dodik, “a Russian proxy who represents a security threat”.
Forto commented on the agreement Bosnia’s political parties overwhelmingly accepted after lengthy talks in Brussels on Sunday evening. The document, among other things, reiterates their commitment to preserving and building a peaceful, stable, sovereign and independent functional BiH and the country's EU integration.
Forto said that he finds it unbelievable that such a short document was interpreted in so many different ways in BiH.
“It is clear here that certain politicians say completely opposite things when they are in international institutions, such as the Council of Europe, and when they come home,” Forto said.
He particularly spoke about Dodik and his behaviour in Brussels.
“I told Mr. Charles Michel and everyone present that Dodik is a Russian proxy who represents a security threat to BiH,” Forto said.
Forto said that BiH does not need charity from the European Union, but that the country needs to do what is required on the path toward the EU.
