The Sarajevo City Hall was illuminated in the colours of the German flag Friday night paying tribute to all the victims after the catastrophic floods that hit the country.

According to the latest figures, over 100 people have been killed in floods in Germany.

The mayor of Sarajevo, Benjamin Karic, announced on her official Facebook profile that “we sympathize with the friendly people of Germany and feel their pain in these difficult times.”

Karic, who was in the company of German Ambassador to Bosnia and Herzegovina Margret Webber, Friday night, added that “the peoples of our two countries are connected by intertwined and unbreakable ties.”

“Our thoughts and prayers are with you,” reads the end of the Sarajevo Mayor's post.
