The air in Sarajevo was unhealthy on Sunday, which can be seen from the photos taken by N1. The valley is covered with smog. According to the latest measurement data, the pollution index is 157. The residents of the Bosnian capital are recommended to wear masks if they are going outside and to close their windows.
“Persons with heart and respiratory diseases, such as asthma can experience an increase in symptoms and their intensity. Everyone else could start to feel the negative impact of pollution on their health. The following groups should reduce any external physical activity: pulmonary and cardiac patients, pregnant women, children, and the elderly. Prolonged or increased stress during the stay outside should be avoided by everyone,” the Ekoakcija environmental association warned.
The Air Visual website also advises closing the windows and avoiding physical activity outside, adding that air purifiers should be used indoors.
The air is also unhealthy in Tuzla, Zenica, and Kakanj, while other cities have a moderately polluted aur-quality.
