Sarajevo International Airport said the record result confirmed the positive trends in passenger traffic it has recorded throughout 2026. This trend is also reflected in the total of 1,973,069 passengers handled between January and October 2026, representing a 1 percent increase compared with the same period last year.
The airport stressed that these results confirmed its continued development, stronger international connectivity for Bosnia and Herzegovina, and growing confidence among passengers and airlines.
It also announced that the expansion of the network of destinations served from Sarajevo would continue with the start of the winter flight schedule, which came into effect on October 25, 2026. During the winter season, flights will operate to 18 destinations in cooperation with 14 airlines. From December, passengers will also be able to use new Wizz Air routes to Bratislava, Berlin and Prague.
Other planned additions include routes to Geneva and Basel, along with further destinations that will be announced to the public in due course.
