Sarajevo marks World Quds Day with solidarity walk for Palestine

AA

On Friday, Sarajevo commemorated World Quds Day with an information booth set up in front of the Bascarsija Mosque and a brief solidarity walk through the streets of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s capital.

The event, organized by the Palestinian Community in BiH, aimed to raise awareness about the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and highlight the daily struggles faced by the Palestinian people under occupation.

Participants marched down Ferhadija Street carrying a banner reading “Holocaust 2023-2025,” alongside visuals featuring the flags of Bosnia and Palestine, while chanting “Free Palestine.”

“We are witnessing unimaginable aggression and destruction that has left Gaza in ruins. Since the continuation of Israel’s offensive on March 18, 2025, there have been 855 martyrs and 1,869 wounded,” organizers stated.

They expressed gratitude to the citizens of Sarajevo, public figures, and media representatives who contributed to the realization of the humanitarian initiative.

Visitors to the information booth had the opportunity to receive educational materials, engage with community members, and symbolically express solidarity with Palestine. The Palestinian Community in BiH also reminded the public that their humanitarian aid efforts for Palestine remain ongoing.
