Sarajevo Mayor Benjamina Karic congratulated Serbia’s best tennis player Novak Djokovic on his 10th grand slam at the Australian Open, and the 22nd in his career, which tied him with Spaniard Rafael Nadal on the all-time list.

“We congratulate our neighbours and Novak Djokovic on his new success with which he proved that he is the best tennis player today and one of the best in the history of tennis. We wish him good health and to continue with the successes that make us all happy and gives hope that hard work and discipline are the road signs leading to top results. Greetings and congratulations from Sarajevo!” Karic wrote.

In the final of the season's first Grand Slam, Djokovic defeated Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas 3:0 (6:3; 7:6; 7:6).

The Serbian tennis player returned to first place on the ATP list, for the first time since June 12 last year.

This week is the 374th in total that Djokovic was placed as the best in the world, making him the absolute record holder.
