Sarajevo Mayor Benjamina Karic announced Friday that she will file a criminal complaint against Ljubisa Cosic for inciting national, racial and religious hatred, discord and intolerance.
“Fulfilled as promised. The criminal complaint against Cosic was submitted today, June 30, 2023,” Karic wrote on her official Facebook account.
The Mayor of Istocno Sarajevo, Ljubisa Cosic, put up a sign at the entrance to the city saying “Welcome to East Sarajevo, the city of 157,000 Serbs who had to leave Sarajevo”.
This move caused a reaction from the Mayor of Sarajevo.
“The mayor of Istocno Sarajevo went a step further today. The city of Sarajevo is being targeted once more, truth and justice are being targeted. Cosic, your efforts are in vain, such times have come that a lie repeated even a thousand times will never become the truth,” Karic said on social networks.
Not long after, Cosic wrote on his Facebook account that the aforementioned boards highlighted the uniqueness that characterizes East Sarajevo.
