Sarajevo Mayor Benjamina Karic is paying on Tuesday an official visit to the city of Banja Luka, Bosnia's second largest, at an invitation of mayor Drasko Stanivukovic, the mayor's cabinet confirmed on Monday.
“I am convinced that the time will show how important it is for our cities, as well as other local communities, to make efforts towards the development and modernisation of our cities, with additional energy of young generations. I accepted with pleasure the invitation to visit Banja Luka and I sincerely thank you for that,” said Karic, adding that she hopes there are many options for successful cooperation between the two largest cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
“Dialogue, openness, cooperation, and building of bridges of friendship remain some of my commitments,” said Sarajevo mayor.
Stanivukovic invited the newly elected Sarajevo mayor to an official visit to his city in May.
Karic and Stanivukovic are the youngest mayors currently in office in BiH.
