Sarajevo pride march to be held on June 22: "I love not being afraid to exist freely"

The fifth BiH Pride march deals with the topic of violence against LGBTIQ+ people in Bosnia and Herzegovina and its aim is show to society how violence affects the daily lives of free and authentic LGBTIQ+ people, the organizers said.

“The topic of violence is, unfortunately, always present in the context of the safety of LGBTIQ+ persons, and safety and safe spaces of that community, as well as each individual, are very necessary for them to lead a dignified life. The slogan of the fifth BiH pride march is LOVE of not being afraid. This slogan talks about love that is always stronger than fear and violence,” they added.

With the presence of love and security, the LGBTIQ+ community gets rid of fear in everyday life and strives to live their authentic lives proudly, in all its spheres.

“With this slogan, we want to say that we LOVE not being afraid of walking through the park with our partners, socializing and not hiding stories about our lives, love enjoying the freedom in gender expression, freedom and safety in the workplace, in the family and in institutions. We LOVE not being afraid to be who we are - authentic individuals,” the organizers concluded.
