The protest aims to secure concrete institutional action after a fatal accident occurred on Thursday, resulting in the death of a young man. Four other individuals were injured in the incident, one of them seriously. Citizens are demanding clear answers and systemic solutions to prevent similar tragedies from recurring.

The accident took place in central Sarajevo when a tram derailed from its tracks. Erdoan Morankic, a young man from Brčko, was killed instantly. The injured parties were transported to medical facilities for urgent care.
This gathering follows a similar protest held on Friday at the same location, where students and high school pupils blocked traffic for two hours. Their primary message, "We do not feel safe," highlighted a growing fear regarding the use of tram transport and general movement through city streets. They noted that aging infrastructure becomes particularly hazardous during winter conditions.
The youth representatives have formally called upon the Government of Sarajevo Canton to immediately withdraw all old trams from service, emphasizing that the safety of citizens must be the absolute priority.
